photo round up part three

Rack and Soul

I had the ribs from Rack and Soul a few years ago at the BBQ block party and thought John Wheeler's were great. This time I was going to their restaurant for the chicken. Here are some pictures. Charles Gabriel's fried chicken is the best I have ever eaten. The sides didn't wow me. The collard greens and the mac and cheese were ok, but I doubt I'd have them again. I really didn't like the biscuits. They seemed hard and dry to me. I will go back again. The ribs and chicken are just that good, and there are a lot more sides to try.

photo round up part two

Some food pictures

Photobucket

I believe this is a picture of the "Angry Whopper." It had some bite, but fast food hamburgers mostly suck. I don't know why I thought this would be a good one.

Riddick's Hempstead branch is gone. I think the other branch is still open. Another real restaurant bites the dust in Hempstead.

This place replaced the Jeronimo Resturant where I ate lunch quite a bit. Was only there once so far. The food seemed slightly bland. I will probably go back at least once.

photo round up

In my next few posts I will post the last pictures from my old phone.

These pictures document the demo of the 24 deli at the foot of Harman St. Where Forest ave and Metropolitan meet. I can't describe how much time I spent in this place, and how big a disruption it's closing has been in my life. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

The elusive Dr. G. S. Lover

Here are some photos of my co-worker Glen. He likes having his picture taken just about as much as I do. These were also taken with the iphone.

Bela

The story of how I got Bela is a long and sordid tale, but here is a picture of her. I've had her for about a year, and here is one of the first pictures I've taken of her.

PS I have now configured my printer to work wireless. All I need now is to get a set of bluetooth or wireless speakers, and my computer will be completely wireless except for power.
PPS This picture was taken with my iphone.

USB 2 hub

This grainy blurry picture is of my new four slot USB 2 hub. I know I am once again behind on my postings. I do have things like pictures from the BBQ block party and my visit to Rack and Soul. Best fried chicken I've ever had. I'm sure I'll get around to it. But here is a picture of my newest purchase. 34 dollars and I'm still was feeling a bit bad about it. Moneys always tight so I feel bad spending money on myself. But now I have all my hard drives connected to the Airport extreme base station. Pretty quick and easy. Listened to stuff from all three drives and it worked perfectly.

Danny Gatton vs Link Wray

Danny Gatton and Link Way both recoded live records with Robert Gordon. I though a comparison would be fun. Here it is; Red Hot two ways. Not my favorite song by any stretch of the imagination, but they do both tear it up pretty good.
